L46 Zebra Plecos are iconic black-and-white striped Hypancistrus that stay compact but demand warm, clean, highly oxygenated water. Each unit is one 3-3.5 cm juvenile fish. Keep them in a 30 gal warm cave aquarium at 78-84 F and pH 6.0-7.5; feed protein-forward sinking foods, gel foods, and occasional frozen foods.
Animal data
Keep Hypancistrus in warm, clean, highly oxygenated water with moderate current, tight caves, shaded cover, and low nitrate. Feed protein-forward sinking carnivore or insect foods with some plant-based variety. Avoid aggressive bottom dwellers and provide more caves than fish.
